Love Motorcycle Training Terms & Conditions
The short version of what you need to know when you book a course with us. This summary covers the essentials — the complete Full Terms and Conditions are set out further down this page.
By booking a course, you agree to this summary and to the Full Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Booking and Payment
- Payment is due within 24 hours of booking, or before the course starts — whichever is earlier.
- For short-notice bookings we may require immediate payment to confirm your place.
- If you don't pay in time, your place can be offered to someone else.
Changing or Cancelling Your Course
Life happens. Here's how it works:
More than 48 hours before the course
You can:
- Transfer to another date at no charge (one free transfer per booking). You'll need to pick a new date within 48 hours of your request.
- Cancel and get a refund of your course fee, less a $50 admin fee and any payment processing fees.
In some cases we may also offer to hold your fee as a credit — this is at our discretion and is not guaranteed.
Less than 48 hours before, or no-show
The course fee is forfeited. This applies regardless of the reason, including illness, injury, bereavement, transport issues, or work commitments. The free transfer option is exactly why we offer it — please use it early if you can.
If we've paid for a venue or travel for your course
For some courses (typically advanced, track, or closed-venue courses) we incur costs ahead of time. Transfers in those cases are assessed case by case and may not be available.
Track days (Performance Cornering)
Special terms apply — no refund within 28 business days of the event, no transfers. See the Full Terms for detail.
How to cancel, amend, or transfer
Use the Student Portal (preferred) or the contact form on our website. Messages to instructors, texts, or social media messages do not count as notice.
Weather
Courses run in most weather conditions. If we decide it's unsafe, we will give you a new date. No refund applies. If the new date doesn't work for you, we may offer a credit at our discretion. If you choose not to attend a course we consider safe to run, that's your call and no refund applies.
On the Day
Please turn up:
- On time — more than 5 minutes late and you forfeit the course;
- With your licence and any required documents;
- On a roadworthy, appropriate motorcycle, if you're using your own;
- In proper gear — helmet, jacket with gloves, long pants, covered footwear (no shorts, jandals, or leggings);
- Sober — not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that affects your ability to ride.
Your instructor will inspect you and your motorcycle before the course. Their reasonable judgement on safety and suitability is final. A current Warrant of Fitness is not determinative — a WOF can be up to 12 months old and doesn't prove the motorcycle is currently safe.
If We Change or Cancel
- Minor adjustments (up to 2 hours on the start time): we'll let you know as soon as we can. If you can't make it, you can transfer to another date.
- Full cancellation: we'll offer a reschedule or a full refund.
- Weather, earthquake, venue closure, or other events beyond our control: we'll give you a new date. The replacement date is set by us. No refund applies except where a replacement cannot reasonably be arranged. We're not responsible for any travel, accommodation, or other costs you've already incurred.
Loan Motorcycles and Gear
- Loan motorcycles are available at most locations — please enquire when booking.
- Helmets, jackets, and gloves must be reserved in advance on our website (a fee may apply).
- Every loan motorcycle requires a short hire agreement to be completed with the instructor on the day, as required under our Rental Services Licence. This includes a photograph and signature on the instructor's device.
- Loan bikes are supplied with a full tank of fuel. At the end of the course, fuel is topped up with the instructor and paid for by you. If that's not possible for any reason, we'll arrange refuelling and invoice you the cost.
- You're responsible for any damage caused by misuse or negligence.
Students Under 18
A parent or guardian must consent to the booking in writing, provide emergency contact details, and accept joint responsibility for the course fees and terms. Some advanced courses have a higher minimum age. See the Full Terms for the detail.
ACC Ride Forever
Ride Forever courses are subsidised by ACC. You pay the student contribution ($20 or $50, depending on the course) and ACC pays the rest. You're responsible for meeting ACC's eligibility criteria at the time of booking and on the day of the course. If ACC doesn't pay because you weren't eligible, you may be liable for the difference.
Complaints
If something's gone wrong, please tell us within 28 days of the course through the Student Portal or the contact form. We'll acknowledge within 3 business days and aim to respond substantively within 10. If you're not happy with the outcome, you can request a review by a director.
